Malana is not the most inviting village in the Himalaya, even though the rules governing a visit are not as rigidly enforced as they were a decade ago; this trek commences from the village of Naggar. Naggar castle is steeped in legend and commands an imposing position looking across the Kullu valley. One of the main attractions is the roerich gallery. The trail goes passed Roerich's cottage and a main briddle path for one km, before branching uphill to the village of Rumsu. After about two hours from Rumsu there is an open meadow for camping. The second camp is pitched at the trail leading to the Chanderkhani Pass( 3,600m) from the camp the trail gradually crosses the series of pastures and reaches the pass which is marked by prayer flags and cairns. Thetrail then continues along the ridge, with views of Malana Valley and the high peaks in the upper Tosh valley, including White sail and Papsura, also can be seen the snow capped Dhauladhar rangein the south to Hanuman Tibba and north to the Ghalpo Peaks in Lahaul. The walk down to the village takes a couple of hours.
