This is an ambitious exploratory trek which traverses over the glaciated Kangla pass( 5,450m) into the zanskar valley. And is the only trek joining the two arid regions and the trip starts out with a spectacular drive into lahaul valley over Rohtang la trekking up along the Mayar Nallah which line our route through the most beautiful valley in Himachal we reach Kanjhar a last village of the valley where the valley broadens with variety of wild flowers and meadows. After spending full day at Palphu for acclimitisation we walk for three days over the glacier and after crossing the kangla pass camp near the confluence of two streams . There is a startling change in the in the landscape as we enter the zanskar valley. In this remote valley of zanskar we visit a number of ancient monasteries notably at purne called phuktal gompa which is built on the sheer face of rock. From here we trek into the lahaul valey over the Phirtsela pass( 5,250m), the descent from the pass crosses an series of scree slopes, and is steep in places down to chumikmarpho. The concluding part of trek is at keylong serai which is little beyond Baralacha la on the Manali Leh highway- 21
